8-3-2011 The Weekly Claw

I’ve gotten word from some of my readers that a lot of my material has them worried, with rising blood pressure, and with other maladies such as heart palpitations, migraines, and irritability. How do y’all think I feel, sorting through this mess? I really do wish that I could only find one medium-sized column per week of stuff to comment on, but the left wing extremist anti-Constitutionalists just won’t stop being idiots.

“…raising the debt limit is a sign of leadership failure.” –Barack Hussein Obama, 2006

A) I don’t know about y’all, but I am proud to be a Hobbit in the Saint Crispin’s Day Society! The SCDS was formulated starting with columns here and here by our good friend BrianR, and grew into a group of folks dedicated to the notion that we just could not hold our noses and vote for a liberal Democrat masquerading as a Republican (aka John McCain). We are conservatives, and will only vote for conservatives and Constitutional/conservative principles.

B) That being said, The Crawfish has some work to do. Last week, one of my Senators, Kay Bailey Hutchison, said “Uncertainty is not good for our economy, but a bad agreement is worse.” On Tuesday, she seems to have changed her mind. She isn’t alone. My other Senator, John Cornyn, is usually a conservative, but he voted in favor of the deal, saying it fundamentally changed the debate in DC. Fundamentally changed by making real cuts in defense and minor reductions in increases in other programs the best we can ever hope for? Representative Kay Granger (TX-12) showed her fundamental lack of awareness by stating: “I voted tonight to cut spending now and raise the debt ceiling. Conservatives had two options: Vote for a plan that cuts more than $900 billion from the federal budget – with another opportunity to cut even more six months from now – or vote “no” and support Senator Harry Reid and President Obama. That was the choice.” She had another choice. She could have stuck with the American people and the Constitution. She could have supported Cut, Cap, and Balance. Yep, I am represented by three sellout RINOs.

C) Here’s the White House press release regarding the debt deal struck on Sunday. Notice that a third of all “spending reductions” are from the Pentagon, while many entitlement programs are exempted from any cuts. The other “cuts” are just reductions in growth, not real cuts. Also note that if no agreement can be made by the Gang of Twelve (which McConnell says will not include the strong conservatives, but rather those who can make a deal), a further $600 billion gets cut from defense. The Crawfish’s choice for SecState, Ambassador Bolton, sees this “deal” as a dagger to our national defense, which the Democrats love. Clearly Obama won, even without an immediate tax increase. He DOES get a tax increase in January of 2013, with the sunsetting of the Bush-era tax cuts, and has veto power of all spending cuts not offset by those tax hikes. Obama also claims credit for saving Medicare from Republican cuts, while failing to admit that his own Obamacare law cuts $500 billion from that program.

D) Here’s more on the Sellout of America, brought to you by John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, also known as the Barack Obama Re-Election Bill of 2011. Heck, even CNNMoney doesn’t like this bill. Once again, the “establishment” of the GOP has proven itself to be a bunch of spineless, liberal cowards.

E) What was the reaction to the bill’s signing on Wall Street? Well, the Dow Jones dropped 2.19 % (265.87 points), with the S&P 500 losing 2.56% and the NASDAQ falling by 2.75%. The CBOE Volatility Index was up over 24, which is definitely not a good sign. Moody’s responded by stating that the US will, for now, keep its AAA credit rating, but that they still lowered their outlook on our debt to “negative.”

F) Of course, the debt problem would be mitigated by our Congress upholding their Constitutional duties and passing a budget, but the Democrats have not even put a budget plan on the table in over 820 days, even when they had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. So why didn’t they do so? Senator Durbin went on television and said that the GOP has filibustered all attempts at budget bills, despite the fact that budget bills are not subject to filibusters. In other words, Durbin LIED AGAIN!

G) The media made a big deal, and rightly so, about Representative Giffords returning to Congress for the debt deal vote. Now if you look REALLY closely down near the end of the article, you will notice a quote from Joe Biden. “She's now a member of the cracked head club like me.” Can you imagine the media outcry if a Republican politician had said that about Giffords? It would be the headline on every alphabet-network website.

H) John Francoise Kerry-Heinz said that the problem in the debt talks was…surprise, surprise…the Tea Party folks. He described the Tea Party as a bunch of “absolutists” who don’t know what they’re doing. Well, since we absolutely oppose out of control spending and absolutely support the Constitution of the United States, I think that we DO know what we’re doing.

I) Even our neighbors to the north understand that our problem is NOT because we don’t tax enough, nor is it because of our defense budget, which is currently at a historic low compared to GDP. It is because of our social programs, which outspend the Department of Defense by a longshot.

J) I know of a $2200 per month expense that the federal government can get rid of immediately. That is how much the Secret Service PAYS Joe Biden to protect him. They rent a cottage on his property to be their command post. He wasn’t getting any rental income from that cottage before, since his mother lived there, but now he believes that it is worth that much a month, and that his security detail should have to PAY to protect him? Bravo Sierra! SHARE THE SACRIFICE!!!!

K) Has America reached a political tipping point? This article, by Jeffrey Lord, shows how we are about to have a great landslide in American political thought, away from the New Deal/Great Society/HopeandChange to conservatism in fiscal and personal values.

L) Some people keep saying that Barack Obama is a complete dolt, that he has no idea what he is doing. Au contraire, mon frère. Barry knows exactly what he is doing. He is following the script devised by his mentor Saul Alinsky, enhanced by Cloward and Piven, and endorsed by his puppetmaster, George Soros.

M) Mrs. AL posted this political cartoon, but didn’t have the link for it. After she put me on to a trail, I finally tracked it down. I do believe it sums up the stance of the Democrats fairly.

N) Believe it or not, but the Bible actually warned us about liberal Democrats. Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

O) Barack Obama had this in his statement on the beginning of Ramadan: “Times like this remind us of the lesson of all great faiths, including Islam -- that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. In that spirit, I wish Muslims around the world a blessed month, and I look forward to again hosting an iftar dinner here at the White House.” Islam says nothing of the sort, as Barack Obama, a muslim by birth and therefore still a muslim (he would have a fatwa death sentence upon his head for leaving Islam if he was no longer a muslim, but the imams instead look at him as a possible Caliph), knows full well. Islam COMMANDS that all non-believers be converted, enslaved, or put to the sword. The Followers of the Pedophilic False Prophet are NOT peaceful in any way.

If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, you can post them on my writer page on Facebook or e-mail them to the address listed on that page. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit if I use your input.

“If you blow stuff up & kill people, you're a militant or insurgent. If you want less spending & lower taxes, you're a terrorist. If conservatives want liberals to stop calling them terrorists, they should start actually killing people. Worked for the Muslims.” –Jim Treacher

  1. Craw,

I think I'll have one of them iftars. At high noon, and I'm serving bacon covered pork chops.

  2. Well Crawfish, the rest of us hobbits in Mississippi are getting alittle upset by these idiots in the US Congress. I, like you, cannot believe that they passed the budget agreement. Those so called "Conservates" that voted for it can now be renamed "Cinos", Conservatives in name only.

    God help us all.

  3. PRAISE THE HOBBITS!

    UP THE SCDS!

BTW, I'm also a terrorist (according to the regime) and if so, then I am damn proud of it!

  4. Craw, thanks for the cameo appearance and the kind words.

We're not only hobbits; don't forget that we're also "terrorists". I guess that makes us hobbit terrorists, the worst kind, feared and dreaded throughout the land.

I just found out that my congressman, McKeon, voted FOR the debt increase. Well, I guess this makes two elections in a row when I won't vote for him. I didn't last time because he voted for the original Bush "bailout". It looks like he didn't learn a damned thing.

As to Biden and his disgusting but expected hypocrisy: I think when they put his hair plugs in they let his brains leak out the holes.

  6. Ghost,
and McConnell is ALREADY surrendering the "super congress" group, saying he wants to put in Senators who will make deals happen.

  7. Gunny,
if the pavement wasn't so damned hot around here, I'd go hobbit-style when I could (barefoot)..just because I'm that kind of terrorist.

  10. Disregard my Email... Buck

    (A) At first I argued with Brian saying McCain
would be the lesser of the two evils. But his one compelling argument was: After McCain's 4 year catastrophe we would THEN have Obama. Better have Obama now and get it over with than 4 years of McCain and then 4 years of Obama.
Made sense, after I thought about it.

    (B) Kay Bailey Hutchison...Yeah...She's the one that "rescued" Amtrak from going under so she was into bailouts even before Gordy Bush and Comrade Zero.
I certainly hope the Texas Tea Party has some alternatives to her..

    (C) The Democrat Party is a puppet of the CPUSA. They would love to leave our military undermanned, underfunded and ill equipped to defend us if (when) we are attacked by an outside power.

    (D) I hope Boehner is replaced by a Tea Party candidate. But if he is sent back by his constituents I hope there are enough Tea Party Representatives in the House to elect someone else as SoH.

    (F) Durbin will lie when the truth would do better but NOone will check the veracity of his statements.

    (H) I have donated "Jane Fonda Urinal Pads" to my local VFW for the head. I believe the company that makes those should seriously consider some "John Kerry Urinal Pads". They'd sell like hotcakes.

    (K) Excellent article! I just hope he's right.

    (L) More like financed by puppetmaster Soros.

    (O) I'm not sure why Obama denies his muslim religion. Unless he's afraid it would cost him votes. Maybe, maybe. But the imbiciles who voted for him when it was thought he was a member of a black libaration church would have no problem voting for him if he announced his muslim beliefs.

Brian R: "hobbit terrorists"? or Terrorist hobbits????

  11. Buck,

There's a Hanoi Jane sticker in the urinal at one of my favorite watering holes, but since I wouldn't piss on her if she was on fire on my couch, I always piss outside.

  12. Buck,
    deleted before opening.
    A) I voted for Chuck Baldwin
    B) Thank God the bitch is retiring.
    C) I actually had a co-worker tell me that the Tea Party wanted to slash the military and kill off all Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Another union idiot. Had to set her straight on that!
    F) WE will check his veracity, and call him on it!
    H) and Obama, and Reid, and Schumer, and McLame..
    K) Me too
    L) That too
    O) It would cost him votes from the independent voters. Democrats would still support him.

Hope you at least go to a tree

  14. One of the funniest that I saw was a sign on the side of a porta-potty near the Viet Nam Memorial that read "Jane Fonda Welcome Center".

Agreed, I wouldn't piss on her if she was on fire.

Crawfish, thanks for sifting through the garbage.

  15. We didn't have Baldwin on the ballot here in Commiefornia, so I went with Barr.

  16. Hardnox,
at the Gathering Of Eagles III rally on the National Mall in 2007, some of the portapots were labelled "DNC National Headquarters", "Speaker Pelosi's Office", "Senator Kerry's Office"

  17. Brian,
Constitution Party is banned in California? Figures.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well, they're not "banned", I don't think. They probably simply didn't apply to be put on the ballot.

There's a cost involved in doing that in this state, and I recall reading that they're pretty cash-strapped.
