7-30-2011 The Weekend Claw

The mantra from the left is that we need to “compromise”, but they have “compromised” the Constitution for a century. It is time for US to restore it!

A) Item number one for this weekend’s column really has The Crawfish ticked off. Every member of the military and all of our veterans should be hacked off as well. A panel of civilians working for the Department of Defense has recommended that the military do away with the vested 20-year retirement, and go to a 401(k) program immediately. First of all, that vested retirement is part of the contract that every member of our military signed upon enlistment. That is one of the main reasons many served or are now serving past the 10-year mark. It is a reward for the risk taken for 20 years. Now they want the military, which is already heavily underpaid, to have to pay for their own retirement? Oh HELL NO! They want that retirement plan to be available to anybody who simply serves ANY bit of time? Oh HELL NO! That would drive retention down the drain. Of course, we know that part of the liberal agenda IS for the true professionals to leave the military so it can be run by all of the PC groups, and the heck with warfighting capability and preparedness. Before this happens, we must demand that the retirement plans of all members of Congress, the President, and all other elected officials be zeroed out, especially those who have resigned in disgrace, like David Wu, who will still get paid millions of dollars because he was shat on the Constitution for a few years.

B) David Wu is a serial sex offender, so where are all of the women who had their panties in a twist over the Allen West-Debbie the Ditz kerfluffle? They must be like the Code Pinko, International A.N.S.W.E.R., left wing moonbat anti-war protesters who were soooo vocal during the W years, but are dead silent now that Obama has us involved in FIVE shooting conflicts.

C) Here is a cause worth supporting. I’d love to see the names of some of my readers added to the list, even with a simple $10 donation.

D) What is the point in negotiating with this President? While we are trying to reduce our debt and dump all non-necessary expenses, he goes out and pledges another $4 billion of OUR taxpayer dollars to the Useless Nations. We already provide over 22% of their annual budget, and that is waaaaay too much. (NOTE: Whoever wrote the headline for the hyperlinked article screwed up by changing $4 billion to $100 billion. I don’t know where they got THAT number from.)

E) A tip of The Crawfish’s cap goes to TampaDoc64 for this one. The American people may go along with the media and White House and blame the GOP for everything, but the latest polling data from CNN…yes, CNN, shows that SEVENTY FOUR PERCENT of the American people support a Balanced Budget Amendment and SIXTY SIX PERCENT support a “Cut, Cap, and Balance” plan. So why doesn’t Harry Reid even let such a plan get to the Senate floor for debate? It is because Dingy Harry is now Delusional Harry. Despite the GOP putting three plans up for votes, each more watered down to “compromise” with the Senate and White House, he has the nerve to say: “We're recognizing that the only compromise that there is, is mine.” Really, Mr. “Every plan from the House is DEAD ON ARRIVAL!”??

F) Dan Calabrese had a hidden microphone on when Barack Obama (self-assigned code name: Uncle Sam) visited the debt counselor last week. It really is that simple.

G) There is a reason that the White House and the Senate Democrats have not put up a serious plan for the debt problem. They know that any serious plan has to be the death knell for the New Deal and Great Society programs. Roger L. Simon takes a look at their dilemma.

H) “What we're trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget. We're trying to save life on this planet as we know it today.” Those are the words of former Queen of the House Red Nanny P-Lousy. Yes, Republicans are planning to use their budget to extinguish all life on Earth. How does she equate cutting unConstitutional spending with destroying the world? That one brain cell of hers is really lonely. She followed it up by saying the last Boehner bill “Pulls the plug” on “50 years of progress for American families.” By that she means, of course, that America’s leeches are going to see some of their freebies go away. Even further, she said that the GOP connecting deficit reduction to a debt ceiling increase was “appalling”, when the real appalling thing is her party’s opposition to common sense and the Constitution. Now as long as we’re talking about stooopid rhetoric from the left, we might as well check out Rep. James Clyburn comparing raising the debt ceiling by Executive Order to the Emancipation Proclamation, which still didn’t have any force of law behind it until the Constitution could be amended.

I)Then there is the latest talking point, that the GOP is (again) the Grinch that Stole Christmas (they really need some new material), because the Boehner plan would only raise the debt limit for a few months and Congress would be fighting it out again in December. But wait a second. Which party rammed through a vote, on Christmas Eve, for a multi-trillion dollar program that was opposed by the majority of the American people? We will give the people a belated Christmas present in January of 2013 when we repeal that monstrosity with a Republican House, a Republican Senate, and a Republican President.

J) The sniping from the Propaganda Ministry continues, with Goebbels, I mean Carney, calling the GOP “incredibly juvenile” for wanting to reign in King Putt’s spending. His disconnect with reality was on full display later in his statement when he said that the latest plan from Speaker Boehner, which is almost a complete capitulation to Harry Reid, is “more draconian” than the Paul Ryan Budget Bill, which contained much deeper cuts.

K) John McCain seems to think he is still relevant and superior to all of the sub-humanity that makes up real America. He actually had the stooopidity to refer to Tea Party supporters as “hobbits” and say that the House Freshmen are being “unfair” and “bizarre” by demanding a vote on the Balanced Budget Amendment, because “others know better.” “(O)thers know better”? I take that as meaning the liberal, blue-blood, country club, Rockefeller “establishment” wing of the GOP knows better than the rabble Tea Party conservatives. That really worked well in 2006 and 2008, didn’t it? Since he believes that he and other “Snowballs” are above us, maybe we should reacquaint him with the Constitution and fiscal responsibility, which is what the Tea Party is fighting for. He must think that we are too dim to remember that he voted IN FAVOR of: the $85 billion bailout of AIG, the $25 billion bailout of the UAW (GM and Chrysler), the $300 billion mortgage entitlement bailout, and the $700 billion TARP (aka liberal slush fund). He must think we are not bright enough to notice that he wants to scrap the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, even as the Russians and Chinese are working on their stealthy strike fighters. Do we need a recall election in Arizona, based upon severe senility of the current Senator?

L) How much would y’all like to wager that the unnamed investor in this story is George Soros. He has made a fortune by wrecking economies and currencies, and he does hate everything America has ever stood for.

M) Here’s a federal program, passed by Pelosi’s House, Reid’s Senate, and signed by Obama, that is unConstitutionally wasting our money. Banks are starting to bulldoze foreclosed properties that aren’t in good condition, and they are getting federal dollars to do it. Why are taxpayers in Texas paying to bulldoze houses in Cleveland? This needs to be unfunded immediately…well, maybe after they bulldoze the entirety of Detroit.

N) Do I really need to go off on my “establishment clause” rant again? When will these atheist idiots ever understand that a cross at a memorial site is not CONGRESS making a LAW that ESTABLISHES a religion?

O) What did Obama and Holder know and when did they know it? The Gunrunner scandal has taken another turn, with an ATF official testifying that the White House knew of Operation Gunrunner months before a US Border Patrol agent was murdered using guns from that operation, and the White House was actually using back channels to get information on the operations, since they wanted to keep it quiet. This is MUCH more serious than Watergate, but it is getting less than 1% of the media attention Watergate did. The reason for that is obvious: the President and Attorney General are both black Democrats, so their backsides must be protected by the media.

P) Russ Vaughn has an interesting take on a recently issued Executive Order, and how it might actually relate to the Gunrunner investigations.

Q) Yet another muslim in the Army has been arrested on attempted terrorism charges. Naser Abdo was planning to bomb establishments just outside of Fort Hood and shoot those who survived the blasts. Representative King is correct in investigating Islamic terrorism in the United States. The Armed Forces are wrong whenever they allow a muslim to enlist. Islam is the enemy of the rest of the world, as commanded by their pedophilic False Prophet and his unholy Quran. We MUST wake up to that fact.

R) The Chinese are now getting serious about finishing the rebuild of the former Soviet aircraft carrier “Varyag”. They say it won’t be deployed as part of a battle group, but rather will be used for research and training, presumably so they can start building their own large-deck carriers. In response, the Democratic Party says that it is time to slash our defense budget.

S) Some not-so-good economic news came out this week. Say it with me, this news was… “unexpected.” In the immortal words of Colonel Sherman T. Potter, “HORSE HOCKEY!”

T) So you think Barack Obama wants to increase jobs in America, especially union jobs, especially for the unions that he already illegally bailed out, right? Think again. He wants to stick another bayonet into the American auto manufacturing industry by demanding that automakers DOUBLE their fuel mileage standards, which will cause the automakers to lose a lot more money and jobs.

U) You had to know this one was coming. The rotten apple didn’t fall far from the rotten tree, as Jesse Be The Jackson Junior has now brought out his very own race card. His fellow Chicago community organizer is being “treated differently” so it must be because of his color. Hey Jesse, I can’t stand his white half either!

If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, you can post them on my writer page on Facebook or e-mail them to the address listed on that page. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit if I use your input.

7-27-2011 The Weekly Claw

And now back to our regularly scheduled rants.

A) Bill of the Poll Katz sent along a video that is sure to disgust y’all. Here is a brand new housing development in the Tacoma, WA, area. It comes complete with schools and medical facilities. All of the cars seem to be fairly new, definitely newer and nicer than the one The Crawfish drives. The residents are all on welfare and Social Security programs for immigrants. Yes, the government is paying for this. Should stuff like this be part of the debt negotiations? Where does the government get the right to take MY money and give it to immigrants so THEY can live large? It surely ain’t in the Constitution.

B) This Administration set a new record for the lowest percentage of appointees who have actually had non-government, non-academic jobs in their backgrounds, and it shows. Michelle Bachmann scored the Slam of the Year by noting that DC would be a lot better off if members of Obama’s Cabinet had at least run a lemonade stand. Then again, there have been a lot of news stories lately about cops shutting down lemonade stands because the kids did not get business and food service permits costing a couple of hundred bucks. Over-regulatory schmucks!

C) On Monday, Obama spoke at a racist, anti-American conference in DC. He told the National Council of THE RACE that he “needs a dance partner” in order to give them the blanket amnesty for illegals that they are demanding as part of their “Reconquista” objectives. So why didn’t he use his “dance partners” when he OWNED the House and Senate for two years? What would happen if a conservative spoke to a racist convention? Our old friend Theblogprof has more on Obama’s appearance there and what La Raza is all about.

D) Fellow conservative blogger Dan found some new polling data courtesy of TheHill.com. It seems that 68% of Americans believe that the media is biased. There’s just one problem with this data, though. There’s 22% who say that the media is biased in favor of the GOP. What are THEY smoking???

E) It looks like the Democrats have another serial sex offender in their ranks. This “representative” and 7-termer evidently went a bit loco during the election season last year, then pressed a teenager for sex over the Thanksgiving weekend, and he has a history of this behavior dating back to at least 1976. Well, somebody had to step forward to take over Teddythedrunk’s (D-Chappaquiddick) post as Congressional Sex Offender in Chief. UPDATE: Representative Wu (Serial rapist-OR) found out through the grapevine that I was about to compare him to Teddythedrunk. He determined that he was not worthy of such a comparison, so he has decided to resign.

F) The head of Obama’s White House Jobs Council, Jeff Immelt, has done such a wonderful job scoring tax exemptions for General Electric from the President that he has decided to do some major hiring and move one of the divisional headquarters of GE. The new headquarters and jobs will be…wait…in CHINA??? I thought his White House responsibility was to create jobs in the USA! Oh…that’s right. I forgot who was President for a moment. My bad.

G) The insanity of the Injustice Department’s illegal operations known as Gunrunner and Castaway continues. Two felons, who should not have been able to purchase weapons at all, managed to buy 360 weapons while the ATF was watching. Whenever someone purchases a gun from a dealer, their Social Security number and driver license number are sent to an ATF computer, which immediately responds with authorization for that person to purchase. If the person is a felon, authorization is denied. Was someone at the Injustice Department changing data in the ATF records? That would be a criminal act!

H) In the meantime, weapons from those botched operations are showing up in droves at Mexican crime scenes. Over 120 weapons involved so far. On top of that, Eric Holder’s Injustice Department is intimidating witnesses in the Congressional hearings, warning them to limit their testimony. This is making Watergate look like child’s play.

I) We have another episode of What Happens When Liberals Run a Nation to report. The man who killed 76 people (which is now being blamed somewhat on the Knights of Templar by some idiots trying to discredit Christianity) in Norway faces a MAXIMUM of 21 years in prison, and law professors there are proud of their lenient system. Frickin’ idiots!

J) Here’s a story that you ain’t gonna find in the mainstream media. Wade Sanders was the man who introduced John Kerry-Heinz at the Democratic convention in 2004. He was also the lead defender of Kerry’s from the attacks by the Swift Boat vets who claimed that Kerry’s stories of heroism and his medal citations were based on lies. Sanders also wore the Silver Star with V for Valor. Well, Sanders is now in prison for kiddie porn and his Silver Star got revoked. A Navy spokesman said it was revoked because of “subsequently determined facts and evidence surrounding both the incident for which the award was made and the processing of the award itself." In other words, Sanders’ award was, like Kerry’s awards, based on LIES!

K) I…uh…you see…hmmm. I really don’t know what to say about this one. It isn’t the way I’d choose to beat the Texas heat.

L) After the President’s vapid debt crisis speech that called for “compromise” about 40 times, the supposed “compromise” plan worked out by Speaker Boehner and Senate Democrats was publicly trashed by Dingy Harry Reid, and the Speech Reader in Chief said that he would veto it. So much for “compromise” and “bipartisanship”. Of course, we all know that when a Democrat calls for “bipartisanship”, what they really mean is that the GOP must roll over, play dead, and accept whatever the Democrats are putting forth. And while we’re talking about putting something forth, the White House was forced to admit on Tuesday that Obama HAS NO PLAN! I know…y’all are simply shocked. Let’s face it, the House has put forth and passed at least three plans. Where are the Democrat plans?

M) “To make matters worse, the recession meant that there was less money coming in, and it required us to spend even more.” That’s the kind of stooooopidity that passes for logic among Democrats. Imagine a husband telling a wife that he will be getting less on his paychecks, but that required them to go out and spend more. How would that work? Skillet to side of head?

N) The liberals are getting downright hysterical over the debt issue. Red Nanny P-Lousy is screeching that the GOP is using the deficit to “undermine government” and “destroy your rights”. How does adherence to the Constitution destroy Constitutional rights? Than Franthithco deserves this loon.

O) P-Lousy isn’t even close to the biggest loon in Than Franthithco. The city is now contemplating making ex-convicts a new “protected class.” It would be illegal to discriminate against them in housing or hiring. Yes, if you are a property owner, you MUST rent to felons, and if you are an employer, you MUST hire them. Not only that, but it would be illegal to even inquire as to criminal background when people file housing or job applications! The only people who are not “protected” in that cesspool are white, heterosexual Christians.

P) Professor Walter E. Williams has a very simple column this week dealing with what the Constitution allows the federal government to spend money on. This one will make liberals scream, since none of their “New Deal” or “Great Society” programs are allowed by that “flawed” document.

Q) The Obama Administration has been desperately trying to get the Small Arms Treaty passed by the UN, so it can be sent to the US Senate. This treaty, which would heavily override the 2nd Amendment if ratified by the Senate, has been championed by Hillary! and her boss (all dictators of the modern era have relied on gun control policies to dominate their people), but now there is true bipartisan opposition. So far, FIFTY SEVEN Senators have vowed to vote against it, and since any treaty needs 2/3 of the Senate voting in favor of ratification, things aren’t looking good for the Useless Nations. Hat tip to The Claw’s favorite retired Marine, Gunny G, for noticing this story before the media could black it out.

R) Rep. Silvestre Reyes (D-El Paso/Juarez) managed to pull out a DOUBLE RACE CARD this week. He says that the GOP is racist against browns and blacks because they are trying to force Barack Obama to uphold our immigration laws instead of not processing for deportment illegals who are not violent criminals. “How more blatant can they be about being anti-minority? They don’t like who’s in the White House so they want to limit his authority.” Sorry, but upholding our laws is not racism. Saying that it is in itself is racism because you are putting skin color over justice.

S) You have to hand it to the folks of California. Where else would you have a state government that is in a HUGE debt hole, has lots of unemployment because illegals are taking so many jobs, is having to release thousands of prisoners from its prisons because of overcrowding caused by thousands of prisoners who are illegals, is paying untold millions to incarcerate all of those illegals, yet is so moved by their presence that it has now passed a bill allowing illegals to attend state universities (again, paid by the state) on scholarship? Governor Moonbeam said it was a step toward an “equal opportunity society” and that this is a chance to “invest in our people.” Uh…Jerry? Those aren’t YOUR people. Those are MEXICO’s people. We warned you about smoking joints with angel dust while banging Linda Ronstadt.

T) The far left media is going into denial of reality. Jimmy Williams of MSLSD…er, MSNBC actually said: “The Tea Party doesn’t exist. . . . Anybody that thinks the Tea Party exists is smoking crack cocaine in America.” If it didn’t exist, then who was it that kicked the crap out of your liberal Democrats in November?

U) Maybe this guy should just take up Pastafarianism or Trojanism. As for the Universal Life Church, Mrs. Crawfish and a few of her co-workers once got themselves “ordained” as ministers by that group, just for the “community involvement” portion of their Navy enlisted evaluation reports. Their Chief failed to see any of the humor.

If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, you can post them on my writer page on Facebook or e-mail them to the address listed on that page. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit if I use your input.

SPECIAL EDITION: Obama's Debt Speech Gets Clawed

Here is Monday night’s campaign speech by President Obama regarding the debt crisis, with The Crawfish’s replies in bold.

Good evening. Tonight, I want to talk about the debate we've been having in Washington over the national debt - a debate that directly affects the lives of all Americans.

For the last decade, we have spent more money than we take in. In the year 2000, the government had a budget surplus. But instead of using it to pay off our debt, the money was spent on trillions of dollars in new tax cuts, while two wars and an expensive prescription drug program were simply added to our nation's credit card.

Yes, George W. Bush went along with many big-government liberal spending ideas, including that drug program (which was universally praised by the left).  The wars were not of our choosing.  Afghanistan provided safe havens and training camps for terrorist groups that attacked us.  Saddam violated the 1991 cease fire accords, which obligated us to reform the Desert Storm Coalition and remove him from power (READ THEM!!).  The biggest problem has been spending that ballooned with the 2007-2008 Congress and exploded under YOUR Administration.  Tax cuts are NOT SPENDING!

As a result, the deficit was on track to top $1 trillion the year I took office. And Obamacare alone will produce another $1 trillion per year starting in 2014.  To make matters worse, the recession meant that there was less money coming in, and it required us to spend even more - on tax cuts for middle-class families; on unemployment insurance; on aid to states so we could prevent more teachers and firefighters and police officers from being laid off. These emergency steps also added to the deficit.

The entire Bush deficit was $2.087 trillion.  YOU have a deficit of over $3.4 trillion in less than three years.  Where does the Constitution authorize the federal government to pay people who aren’t working?  Where does the Constitution authorize the federal government to pay for state and local teachers and law enforcement?  It doesn’t.

Now, every family knows that a little credit card debt is manageable. But if we stay on the current path, our growing debt could cost us jobs and do serious damage to the economy. More of our tax dollars will go toward paying off the interest on our loans. Businesses will be less likely to open up shop and hire workers in a country that can't balance its books. Interest rates could climb for everyone who borrows money - the homeowner with a mortgage, the student with a college loan, the corner store that wants to expand. And we won't have enough money to make job-creating investments in things like education and infrastructure, or pay for vital programs like Medicare and Medicaid.

So stop your unConstitutional spending!  Medicare and Medicaid are NOT vital to the future.  Those who are on them now could be grandfathered, but in the future people must take responsibility for themselves.  Heck, your own Obamacare law takes $500 billion away from Medicare, even though you have AARP advertising that it is the GOP that wants to take money from that program!

Because neither party is blameless for the decisions that led to this problem, both parties have a responsibility to solve it. And over the last several months, that's what we've been trying to do. I won't bore you with the details of every plan or proposal, but basically, the debate has centered around two different approaches.

The big deficits started when YOUR party took over Congress and then got a dose of steroids when you got elected.  Your party and the liberal “establishment” wing of the GOP are to blame.

The first approach says, let's live within our means by making serious, historic cuts in government spending. GOOD!  Let's cut domestic spending to the lowest level it's been since Dwight Eisenhower was President. Great!  Repeal every bit of LBJ’s “Great Society” as a start.  Let's cut defense spending at the Pentagon by hundreds of billions of dollars. There is some waste, but don’t let the politicians make those cuts.  Get the input from those whom in ranks E-5 to O-7.  Do NOT cut advanced weapons that we are in dire need of to continue our technical supremacy, like the F-35.  Let's cut out the waste and fraud in health care programs like Medicare - and at the same time, let's make modest adjustments so that Medicare is still there for future generations. Finally, let's ask the wealthiest Americans and biggest corporations to give up some of their tax breaks and special deductions.

Like GE, which paid ZERO taxes last year?  Implement the Fair Tax if you want personal tax reform “fairness”, then cut corporate tax rates so we are no longer in the highest 5 business tax countries.  THAT will bring businesses back to America!

This balanced approach asks everyone to give a little without requiring anyone to sacrifice too much. It would reduce the deficit by around $4 trillion and put us on a path to pay down our debt. And the cuts wouldn't happen so abruptly that they'd be a drag on our economy, or prevent us from helping small business and middle-class families get back on their feet right now.

It is NOT “balanced”, and is too small.  I could go through the budget…oh, that’s right.  YOUR party has refused to even put forth a budget in over 800 days, so we have no budget to cut!  I could go through federal spending for the past year and find enough cuts to give us a surplus simply by abiding by the Constitution and not giving a penny to illegals!

This approach is also bipartisan. The definition of “bipartisan” whenever a liberal says it is: Do it the way the Dems want.  That approach has the support of a couple of RINOs, but not of the American people.  While many in my own party aren't happy with the painful cuts it makes, enough will be willing to accept them if the burden is fairly shared. The top percentage of taxpayers make 20% of the income every year, but pay over 40% of the tax, and that isn’t yet FAIR?  They pay MORE than their FAIR share!  While Republicans might like to see deeper cuts and no revenue at all, there are many in the Senate who have said "Yes, I'm willing to put politics aside and consider this approach because I care about solving the problem." And to his credit, this is the kind of approach the Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, was working on with me over the last several weeks.

Too bad YOU can’t put politics aside even for an instant.

The only reason this balanced approach isn't on its way to becoming law right now is because a significant number of Republicans in Congress are insisting on a cuts-only approach - an approach that doesn't ask the wealthiest Americans or biggest corporations to contribute anything at all. And because nothing is asked of those at the top of the income scales, such an approach would close the deficit only with more severe cuts to programs we all care about - cuts that place a greater burden on working families.

LIAR!  Boehner agreed to a plan that included $800 billion in additional revenue, but you changed your mind and required another $400 billion.  The problem is not that we don’t have revenue, since revenue is up from 2005.  The problem is that spending has gone up much faster than revenue.  Constitutional cuts place NO burden on anybody but your precious bloated federal bureaucracy.

So the debate right now isn't about whether we need to make tough choices. Democrats and Republicans agree on the amount of deficit reduction we need. The debate is about how it should be done. Most Americans, regardless of political party, don't understand how we can ask a senior citizen to pay more for her Medicare before we ask corporate jet owners and oil companies to give up tax breaks that other companies don't get. A) Those “corporate jet owners” got their equipment depreciation acceleration from YOUR so-called “stimulus”.  B) The tax breaks that the oil companies get is the same as for any other company, so by the equality under law clause they must keep them.  C) The government makes far more $$ off of a gallon of gasoline than the pennies the oil companies earn as profit, so quit using their profits as a class warfare item.  They make more because of their huge size.  Their profit margins are at the low end of what corporations deem “successful”, so try learning proper economics.  How can we ask a student to pay more for college before we ask hedge fund managers to stop paying taxes at a lower rate than their secretaries? How can we slash funding for education and clean energy before we ask people like me to give up tax breaks we don't need and didn't ask for?

Try lowering the cost of education.  There are thousands of professors who have “tenure” and teach one or two classes per month (teaching assistants do half of their work) while earning over $150,000.00 per year.  They get even more money by writing their textbooks, and they rewrite one chapter per year so the next batch of students can’t buy used books, but have to pay high-dollars for new ones.

That's not right. It's not fair. We all want a government that lives within its means, but there are still things we need to pay for as a country - things like new roads and bridges; weather satellites and food inspection; services to veterans and medical research.

Okay, those are acceptable items to spend on.  Now get rid of the entitlement programs!

Keep in mind that under a balanced approach, the 98% of Americans who make under $250,000 would see no tax increases at all. None. In fact, I want to extend the payroll tax cut for working families. What we're talking about under a balanced approach is asking Americans whose incomes have gone up the most over the last decade - millionaires and billionaires - to share in the sacrifice everyone else has to make. They already pay more than their “balanced” share!  The bottom 50% of wage earners pays NONE of their “fair” share.  You are wanting to tax the business owners so that they cannot keep their businesses open, thriving, and hiring.  And I think these patriotic Americans are willing to pitch in. In fact, over the last few decades, they've pitched in every time we passed a bipartisan deal to reduce the deficit. The first time a deal passed, a predecessor of mine made the case for a balanced approach by saying this:

"Would you rather reduce deficits and interest rates by raising revenue from those who are not now paying their fair share, or would you rather accept larger budget deficits, higher interest rates, and higher unemployment? And I think I know your answer."

Those words were spoken by Ronald Reagan. Again, THEY PAY MORE THAN THEIR FAIR SHARE!  The choice you are refusing to consider is reducing spending!  What did Reagan want to do with spending?  Tip O’Neill and the Dems reneged on their end of the bargain and raised spending.  But today, many Republicans in the House refuse to consider this kind of balanced approach - an approach that was pursued not only by President Reagan, but by the first President Bush, President Clinton, (all three of which also used serious spending cuts as most of the formulae) myself, and many Democrats and Republicans in the United States Senate. So we are left with a stalemate.

Now, what makes today's stalemate so dangerous is that it has been tied to something known as the debt ceiling - a term that most people outside of Washington have probably never heard of before.
Understand - raising the debt ceiling does not allow Congress to spend more money. It simply gives our country the ability to pay the bills that Congress has already racked up. In the past, raising the debt ceiling was routine. Since the 1950s, Congress has always passed it, and every President has signed it. President Reagan did it 18 times. George W. Bush did it 7 times. And we have to do it by next Tuesday, August 2nd, or else we won't be able to pay all of our bills.

Unfortunately, for the past several weeks, Republican House members have essentially said that the only way they'll vote to prevent America's first-ever default is if the rest of us agree to their deep, spending cuts-only approach.

Which will easily work, putting us on a path to a surplus!

If that happens, and we default, we would not have enough money to pay all of our bills - bills that include monthly Social Security checks, veterans' benefits, and the government contracts we've signed with thousands of businesses.

LIAR!  We take in more than enough to service our debt and pay those expenses!

For the first time in history, our country's Triple A credit rating would be downgraded, leaving investors around the world to wonder whether the United States is still a good bet. Interest rates would skyrocket on credit cards, mortgages, and car loans, which amounts to a huge tax hike on the American people. We would risk sparking a deep economic crisis - one caused almost entirely by Washington Democrats and RINOs (fixed it for ya).

Defaulting on our obligations is a reckless and irresponsible outcome to this debate. And Republican leaders say that they agree we must avoid default. But the new approach that Speaker Boehner unveiled today, which would temporarily extend the debt ceiling in exchange for spending cuts, would force us to once again face the threat of default just six months from now. In other words, it doesn't solve the problem.

No, but the Cut, Cap, and Balance bill WOULD solve the problem.  Too bad your party won’t even allow it to come to a vote in the Senate, since your party is too busy playing politics.  Your party lives by the rule “Never let a crisis go to waste!”

First of all, a six-month extension of the debt ceiling might not be enough to avoid a credit downgrade and the higher interest rates that all Americans would have to pay as a result. We know what we have to do to reduce our deficits; there's no point in putting the economy at risk by kicking the can further down the road.

But there's an even greater danger to this approach. Based on what we've seen these past few weeks, we know what to expect six months from now. The House will once again refuse to prevent default unless the rest of us accept their cuts-only approach. Again, they will refuse to ask the wealthiest Americans to give up their tax cuts or deductions. Again, they will demand harsh cuts to programs like Medicare. And once again, the economy will be held captive unless they get their way.

Once again your party will demand job-killing tax increases while they steadfastly refuse to stop unConstitutional entitlement spending.  The only steep cuts you will allow will be in National Defense and the enforcement of our borders.

That is no way to run the greatest country on Earth. So try running it by the owner’s manual, copyright 1787.  It is a dangerous game we've never played before, and we can't afford to play it now. Not when the jobs and livelihoods of so many families are at stake. We can't allow the American people to become collateral damage to Washington's political warfare.

Congress now has one week left to act, and there are still paths forward. The Senate has introduced a plan to avoid default, which makes a down payment on deficit reduction and ensures that we don't have to go through this again in six months.

But it has no REAL cuts.  It calls the end of the Iraq and Afghanistan operations “cuts” even though they are already scheduled.  We will NOT fall for fake cuts again.

I think that's a much better path, although serious deficit reduction would still require us to tackle the tough challenges of entitlement and tax reform. (which you absolutely refuse to do until you are done with elections) Either way, I have told leaders of both parties that they must come up with a fair compromise in the next few days that can pass both houses of Congress - a compromise I can sign. And I am confident we can reach this compromise. Despite our disagreements, Republican leaders and I have found common ground before. And I believe that enough members of both parties will ultimately put politics aside and help us make progress.

I realize that a lot of the new members of Congress and I don't see eye-to-eye on many issues. But we were each elected by some of the same Americans for some of the same reasons. No, YOU were elected by the leeches, so you could pay their mortgage and fill up their cars, by the people who wanted to see “history”, by blacks who voted purely on skin color, by the media that refused to vet you or ask a single penetrating question, and by the uneducated folks who were caught up with and fooled by that “hopey-changey” thing.  The House freshmen were elected by responsible adults.  Yes, many want government to start living within its means. And many are fed up with a system in which the deck seems stacked against middle-class Americans in favor of the wealthiest few. But do you know what people are fed up with most of all?

They're fed up with a town where compromise has become a dirty word. So compromise by abiding with the Constitution.  They work all day long, many of them scraping by, just to put food on the table. And when these Americans come home at night, bone-tired, and turn on the news, all they see is the same partisan three-ring circus here in Washington. They see leaders who can't seem to come together and do what it takes to make life just a little bit better for ordinary Americans. They see the Democrats in constant campaign mode, as evidenced by their failure to put forth a budget even when they controlled the House, Senate, and White House.  They are offended by that. And they should be.

The American people may have voted for divided government, but they didn't vote for a dysfunctional government. So I'm asking you all to make your voice heard. We did last November, or has that still escaped your feeble thought process?  If you want a balanced approach to reducing the deficit, let your Member of Congress know. If you believe we can solve this problem through compromise, send that message.

America, after all, has always been a grand experiment in compromise. As a democracy made up of every race and religion, where every belief and point of view is welcomed, we have put to the test time and again the proposition at the heart of our founding: that out of many, we are one. We have engaged in fierce and passionate debates about the issues of the day, but from slavery to war, from civil liberties to questions of economic justice, we have tried to live by the words that Jefferson once wrote: "Every man cannot have his way in all things…Without this mutual disposition, we are disjointed individuals, but not a society."

History is scattered with the stories of those who held fast to rigid ideologies and refused to listen to those who disagreed. Like you, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi?  But those are not the Americans we remember. We remember the Americans who put country above self, and set personal grievances aside for the greater good. You mean those evil white slave owners who wrote that piece of “flawed” (your description) garbage called the Constitution?  We remember the Americans who held this country together during its most difficult hours; who put aside pride and party to form a more perfect union.

That's who we remember. That's who we need to be right now. The entire world is watching. So let's seize this moment to show why the United States of America is still the greatest nation on Earth - not just because we can still keep our word and meet our obligations, but because we can still come together as one nation.

Thank you, God Allah (fixed it for you) bless you, and may God Allah (fixed it for you) bless the United States of America.

7-23-2011 The Weekend Claw

A) The Crawfish gives a mighty “OOH-RAH!” to former Corporal Dakota Meyer, USMC, who has been informed by President Obama that he will be awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Afghanistan. He becomes the first living Marine to receive the MOH in 41 years. “Well done!”

B) I normally don’t put any comedy this early in the column, but I can’t pass this one up. Here’s a video of Barack Obama saying that FDR “was pretty fiscally conservative.” If Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann said something that outlandish, the media would crucify them.

C) The media is trying sooooo hard to make the GOP look like the bad and ignorant folks in the budget debate. PMSNBC’s Contessa Brewer (BTW, Contessa is the female version of Count, the 5th level of nobility after king/queen, prince/princess, duke/duchess, and marquis/marquess, so we know her level of spoiled bratness growing up) tried to explain a Republican Congressman that failure to pass a bailout would send the nation into a depression. When he disagreed, she questioned his credentials on economics, since the only people who know more than liberal media types are Democrat politicians. Epic Fail! Her opponent in this discussion was Alabama’s Mo Brooks, who graduated with high honors in 3 years from Duke with a degree in economics.

D) Speaking of media malfeasance, I must give language and content warnings for the video linked in this paragraph. Can you imagine what would happen if this had been a conservative show talking about Democrat politicians? How come there was no vast media outcry over this? Where is the National Organization of Women or any other feminist group on this subject? (@#^$ liberal hypocrites! Of course, there aren’t many liberal women worth taking to bed in the first place....

E) The jobless numbers went up again this week, and of course that news was UNEXPECTED according to the media.

F) Senator Harkin of Iowa must be turning corn into shine again. He refers to the Tea Party as a “cult fringe”, which is simply an acknowledgement that his party opposes anything that is actually written into the Constitution. Then he goes off saying that the debt was “mostly was racked up by a Republican House, a Republican Senate and a Republican President in the last 8 years.” Really? First of all, the GOP only held all three for 6 years. Secondly, they were being led by a big-government liberal who disguised his actions by calling them “compassionate conservatism”. Thirdly, the out-of-control spending began in January of 2007, when Red Nanny P-Lousy and Dingy Harry took control of Congress, then got shot full of steroids when Barack Hussein Obama MMM MMM MMM came to power. Here’s a timeline of the fiscal actions taken by Barack Obama and the Democrats since they took control of the government. You will notice that the public debt upon his inauguration was $6.31 trillion, and that number has gone up by $3.44 trillion in less than three years. QUIT BLAMING BUSH!

G) Even if we discount the first year of Bush’s Presidency, when there was a budget surplus and 9-11 had not crapped all over the economy, his other SEVEN years had deficits totaling $2.087 trillion. You won’t find any conservatives defending those numbers, as they prove yet again that W was a big-government liberal, but Obama has over 150% of that number in less than THREE years.

H) The Harry Reid-led Senate voted to not even bring up Cut, Cap, and Balance for debate on Friday, so they could quickly vacate DC. Dingy said that the bill was the worst piece of legislation to ever hit the Senate floor, although we all know that Obamacare was much worse. Reid said that the Senate could do no further work until the House passed a bill, since all revenue bills must, Constitutionally, originate in the House. Since he said that, it means that the only bill he will allow to be debated will be a big tax increase bill. The House has passed two plans, so the American people should be able to see who is refusing to do their jobs.

I) The President shifted blame for the lack of a drug d…er, debt deal to the media, saying a “splintered” media (with See-BS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, the Oprah Winfrey Network, Noo Yawk Slimes, Washington Compost, El Lay Times, Atlanta Journal of Constipation, HuffPo, and others on the left, and Fox News and Wall Street Journal on the right) fanning the flames so that there is no “compromise”, which Democrats always define as “the GOP letting us get whatever we want.” Yes, Barack Obama wants a cohesive media, all on the same page of the same playbook. You remember that…Pravda, Isvestia, TASS, Novotsi…

J) Then there are the Democrat cheerleaders at CNN, who are desperately trying to get all of you to miss an important bit of information in their latest polling data. It seems that each and every demographic that they polled supports a balanced budget amendment. This simply cannot be allowed!

K) Of course Moonshine Harkin and a few other Dems might be in a bit of trouble if the media ever gloms onto the roll call from a Senate vote in 1997 on a Balanced Budget Amendment. It’s not just the far-right “cult fringe” that supports such a measure, considering that Harkin, Biden, Durbin, Feinstein, and even Dingy Harry himself all voted for the BBA.

L) June’s existing-home sales numbers were down, and just like every other bit of bad economic news since Pelosi and Reid took over Congress in 2007, this news is (say it with me) “unexpected”. Truly “unexpected” economic news during the reign of King Barack I will be anything that is really positive.

M) The White House is whizzing on our heads and telling us it is raining…again. They are the most fundamentally dishonest Administration in history, making Billy Jeff and Trickydick look more honest than Abe. On Thursday, White House Propaganda Minister Carney had the chutzpah to announce: “Well, two things remain uncontestably true. The economy is vastly improved from what it was when Barack Obama was sworn into office as president.” This bunch must be smokin’ da crack, but watch the media pick up on that line and run with it. Although the words are usually attributed to Lenin or Goebbels, it could have come from our modern Democrats…a lie told often enough becomes the truth.

N) While on the subject of lies from this Administration, take a gander at the latest work from Janet Incompitano’s Department of Homeland Insecurity. Terrorists are really all white folks, even “Jihad Jane” has (artificially enhanced) bright blue eyes. Terrorists are people who oppose surveillance, who write on paper, who drive vans, and who wear hoodies. She wants all Americans to become informants. Kinda reminds us of the early Nazi Gestapo, the Soviet NKVD and KGB, and East Germany’s Stasi. Remember that the Administration put out a White House e-mail address for people to inform on those who opposed Obamacare? I self-reported, as did a bunch of my friends. The Anti Liberal Zone’s Gunny G self-reported over a hundred times! This is how dictators build and maintain their power.

O) Just before Independence Day, a study was released that showed how people who go to July 4th events are swayed to support conservative positions, presumably because conservatives actually love our nation while liberals want to “fundamentally change” it. Now comes another study, this time showing that the image of the American flag sways voters to Republican voting patterns. The Crawfish imagines that images of our military personnel and equipment or the Constitution probably do the same. Patriotism: one side has it, the other doesn’t. Fox News commenter “2fred” had a great comment on the story: “Since many Democrats are used to seeing stars, i.e. flitting flashes of brilliance dancing around their visual periphery due to drug usage, concussion, etc., the presence of actual stars had a canceling effect, thus they were able to see more clearly.”

P) Gunrunner and Castaway might have another brother. It looks like the US government has been selling weaponry to the Zetas drug cartel, including anti-aircraft weapons, through the U.S. Direct Commercial Sales Program, which is run by Hillary!’s State Department.

Q) I’m not sayin’ that Obamacare is a jobs killer. That’s because I don’t have to, since the proof is already available. There are many reasons that the American people opposed that bill, why it required many Congressional bribes to gain passage, and why so many supporters (SEIU, other unions, AARP) have asked for exemptions.

R) Democrats just don’t get it. What part of “illegal” is so damned hard to understand? What part of too much government spending is so hard to understand? Governor Patrick of Taxachusetts is now supporting a measure to let illegals pay in-state rates on college tuition, which means that the taxpayers of that state will now subsidize the college education of people who have no right to be in our country. Don’t subsidize them. DEPORT THEM!

S) John Boehner is an idiot. Then again, we saw that in the last round of budget negotiations.

T) The jobs market is really hell on the younger folks these days. They are the victims of a severe quadruple-whammy. First of all, our population is living longer, so a much larger investment portfolio is required for people to retire on. Secondly, our economy over the past 35 years or so has required two paychecks to support a family. This means that there are TWO older Americans taking up the jobs. Thirdly, the Baby-boomer crowd is the largest generation in our history, and they are the ones who should be starting to retire, but they aren’t. And lastly, the Obama-Pelosi-Reid economy has killed millions of jobs in our country. So how’s that hopey-changey stuff workin’ out for ya?

U) President Obama gave a foreign automaker a gift of $1.3 billion this week, when he allowed Fiat to buy the remaining Chrysler stocks Obama had purchased to bail out his buddies in the UAW. This “pays off” the debt 6 years early. Sensible people would have waited out a few more of those years to get back more of the taxpayers’ money, but what does Obama care about the taxpayers and our debt? His “assistant secretary for financial stability” (a job CLEARLY defined in the Constitution) actually bragged about it, saying “This is a major accomplishment and further evidence of the success of the administration's actions” when in a non-skewed universe the loss of $1.3 billion is considered another sign of this Administration’s failures.

V) Well, it looks like the scientific folks might have figured out why F-22 pilots were getting hypoxia. After looking at all of the complex systems, mostly the On-Board Oxygen Generating System, the cause appears to be something rather simple. Now let’s get those Raptors back in the sky!

W) Here is yet another reason to support Representative Allen West. He is strongly opposing the proposed sale of 125 M1A1 Abrams main battle tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood. Sultan Bu’raq al Obama wants Egypt, meaning the Muslim Brotherhood, to have these tanks, since they have already announced their intention of resuming a state of war with Israel. Oh, and regarding his spat with Debbie the Ditz, she has a very bad memory, because here is a video showing who started the personal attacks, and how that person’s attacks were filled with lies about Allen West and every Constitution-loving Tea Party member.

X) For the Brain Dead Polling Information of the Week, we go to Public Policy Polling’s results from Tuesday. Forty percent unsure????

Y) I actually got the following story from two different e-mails, but Buck sent it first:
In 1952, Armon M. Sweat, Jr., a member of the Texas House of Representatives, was asked about his position on whiskey. What follows is his exact answer (taken from the Political Archives of Texas):

"If you mean whiskey, the devil's brew, the poison scourge, the bloody monster that defiles innocence, dethrones reason, destroys the home, creates misery and poverty, yea, literally takes the bread from the mouths of little children; if you mean that evil drink that topples Christian men and women from the pinnacles of righteous and gracious living into the bottomless pit of degradation, shame, despair, helplessness, and hopelessness, then, my friend, I am opposed to it with every fiber of my being.

However, if by whiskey you mean the oil of conversation, the philosophic wine, the elixir of life, the ale that is consumed when good fellows get together, that puts a song in their hearts and the warm glow of contentment in their eyes; if you mean Christmas cheer, the stimulating sip that puts a little spring in the step of an elderly gentleman on a frosty morning; if you mean that drink that enables man to magnify his joy, and to forget life's great tragedies and heartbreaks and sorrow; if you mean that drink the sale of which pours into Texas treasuries untold millions of dollars each year, that provides tender care for our little crippled children, our blind, our deaf, our dumb, our pitifully aged and infirm, to build the finest highways, hospitals, universities, and community colleges in this nation, then my friend, I am absolutely, unequivocally in favor of it.

This is my position, and as always, I refuse to compromise on matters of principle."

If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, you can post them on my writer page on Facebook or e-mail them to the address listed on that page. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit if I use your input.

7-20-2011 The Weekly Claw

What we have heyah, is a failure, to communicate. They’re trying to get their messages out, but the people have learned over the past couple of years to spot a large pile of bovine excrement.

A) Why does our President have such an aversion to the truth? In his 15 July presser he had 36 lies and deceptions. The worst possible trait in a leader is dishonesty.

B) “We don’t need a balanced budget amendment” says Mr. Big Spender. Passing one would be pointless anyway. The Democrats don’t abide by the Constitution as it currently is, so what makes you think they would abide by it with another restriction on their ultimate goal of unlimited federal government?

C) His Majesty wants the “largest deal possible” for deficit reduction, so Doctor/Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma is putting up a plan that would cut $9 trillion over the next decade. That’s a pretty good start, but I’m sure we could get even more by adhering to that moldy old document from 1787. Of course, the only part of this plan that Obama will find acceptable will be the cuts in defense, which happens to be a Constitutional duty of the federal government.

D) His erstwhile challenger and current SecState, The Pant Suit, just praised Greece’s leadership in their debt crisis. Yes, they screwed up, had to get bailouts from US and from the EU, and their people are rioting because of the “austerity” measures, but that’s some fine leadership they’ve got.

E) On the flip side, the White House says that Barack Obama is showing leadership precisely by NOT putting forth his own debt reduction plan. When some of y’all start understanding their pseudo-logic, could ya explain it to the rest of us? The Crawfish sees leadership coming from the House GOP, as they have actually passed the Cut, Cap, and Balance plan. The Dems haven’t even put a budget up for a vote in the past three years!

F) AARP is up in arms over some of the debt reduction talk that might include cuts in Medicare. So why were they not concerned at all when they endorsed the Obamacare bill, which cuts $500 billion from Medicare? Oh, that’s right. Those cuts in Medicare would have been made up by certain for-profit insurance plans, with the main one being run by…AARP. Yes, it is okay for the government to make seniors pay more for health care as long as a left wing activist group profits from it. Got it!

G) While we’re discussing corrupt left-wing organizations, take a look at what has come out in court in the case of the SEIU vs. Sodexo USA. Yes, it is a manual for union goonery.

H) “In my own life, in my own small way, I have tried to give back to this country that has given me so much. See, that’s why I left a job at a big law firm for a career in public service.” Those are the words of Marie Antoinette Obama (AKA: Moochelle, the First Grifter, Queen of the vacations). Career in public service? What job does she have? The answer is that she has no job, but DOES have 24 servants for her non-job, and the salaries for those servants is an annual $1,750,000.00 plus lavish benefits. Most of them also get to enjoy all of micHELLe’s air travel and vacations, all on OUR dime. She's not in "service".

I) How much of OUR money is spent on completely useless “studies”? This article talks about a few of them, but the main subject is a government-funded study on the member sizes of homo men and how that translates into whether they are pitchers or catchers. WHY???

J) Steve Wynn is one of the folks who completely revitalized Las Vegas. He describes himself as a “Democratic businessman.” So who does he blame for the current terrible business climate? Well, it ain’t a Republican.

K) “I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us.” So says Hanoi Jane Fonda upon her cancellation from QVC, which she blames on “political extremist groups.” Why are left wing extremists such obsessive and compulsive liars? Those of us who are political centrists (in other words, Constitutionalists) don’t have that utter lack of honor.

L) Here’s the newest suggestion from the Acolytes of the Goron. To reduce our carbon footprint and save energy, we need to go meatless one day per week. Are they going to tell the wagyu beef and chili dog munching royals in the White House? THIS native Texan only goes meatless on Fridays during Lent, and even then seafood is on the menu.

M) My co-worker Ed sent along this video of Obama voters in action.

N) Let’s see…China is in the middle of a huge military buildup that includes development of a stealth strike fighter, anti-ship cruise missiles, and long-range missiles that benefit from guidance system technology given to them by Monica’s boyfriend. Iran is also building up their forces and has not been shy about stating that they will eventually attack Israel and all of Israel’s supporters. Iran’s Mad Mullahs and the Psychotic Dwarf with the Funky Hair and High Heels in North Korea are jointly developing missiles and nuclear weapons that they wish to give to terrorist groups and terrorist supporting nations. The Muslim Brotherhood is taking over Egypt and has already said that they will declare war on Israel. Other muslim groups are bizzy throughout the Middle East. The liberals in America see all of this, and their reaction is: “Let’s slash the defense budget, since we hate everything America’s military stands for!” They want to cut our carrier force down to nine, while not procuring the F-35 for the Navy and Marines, even though the Hornet and the Harrier are in dire need of replacement. This is the same kind of thinking that ruined our military after Vietnam, but with the addition of the radical homo agenda. Senator Coburn’s $9 trillion reduction plan also includes screwing the Navy and Marine Corps pilots out of stealth technology. Why not just announce that non-USAF pilots are considered expendable?

O) You want some government waste to cut? Take a look at some of the tax deductions listed in a report by Senator Coburn of Oklahoma. Twenty pounds of boob job is deductable?

P) This will probably not come as a shock, but USA Today reports that workers in many federal agencies have such job security that they are more likely to die than to get fired or laid off. President Crawfish would definitely change that.

Q) The liberals love to blame Bush for everything that they screw up, so how ‘bout giving them a campaign point. Let’s have the GOP come out and say “We want to spend just like Bush did!” The Dems would love it, until reality manages to raise its head.

R) The Claw has a new home! Not only do I post this mess at Red White Blue News, AllMilitary.com, Blogspot, Patriot Action Network, and Paul Revere Media, but now I have my own writer page on Facebook where it shows up in the Notes.

If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, e-mail them to me at CrawfishsClaw@yahoo.com and I’ll consider ‘em. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit.

7-16-2011 The Weekend Claw

Believe it or not, there is something to pay attention to this weekend besides the debt crisis. The United States team is in the finals of the Women’s World Cup on Sunday! I’ll probably be nursing a good sunburn as I watch.

A) I have finally come up with the perfect line to scream every time Barack Obama (or most any Democrat) is speaking. Clara’s final line is pretty descriptive of this Administration as well.

B) Senator Turban Durbin has admitted what we all knew to be the real plan of the Dim-ocrats. He now states that the DREAM Act is just the “starting point” in their quest for amnesty for all illegals. Folks, they know that they are going to be losing their majority soon, and that the American people are solidly against any amnesty, so why are they still pushing it?

C) Here we go yet again with another group that is actually in favor of “freedom FROM religion” and can’t understand the simple words of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Governor Rick Perry is supporting and promoting an all-day prayer event next month, so the Freedom From Religion Foundation says that it is a violation of the Constitution since Perry’s actions give the impression that the state favors evangelical Christians. First of all, these are the actions of a STATE’S executive, not a federal executive. Secondly, Congress didn’t make any law regarding the event. Thirdly, no religion was established. So how is this event violating the “establishment clause”, which reads: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”? Why is it so hard for liberals to read the words?
Side note: The Crawfish looked up this story at HuffPo. It never fails to amaze me how much anti-Christian hatred fills that site. People were claiming that this shows Texas to be a Baptist theocracy, that this event is all anti-Semitism, and all sorts of junk. I wonder if this will finally be the set of comments that gets me kicked outta there, even though I just pointed out Constitutional reality and did not toss a single grenade into the mix. Oh, wait…I did respond to a Moderator who posted the anti-Semitism stuff and asked her to show what was anti-Semitical about it. THAT will get me booted.

D) This could be some of the best comedy ever if it wasn’t so serious. Dingy Harry and the rest of the Democrats have a new talking point for the media. They are saying that the debt limit impasse is all Eric Cantor’s fault, that Cantor is acting “childish” and “juvenile”, and that “Boehner needs to rein him in and let the grown-ups get to work.” This is coming from the party of the petulant spoiled brat who said he was going to tell his Mommy (“I’m going to the American people on this!” Even though the American people support Cantor’s position???), picked up his ball, and went home on Wednesday because he wasn’t getting the economy-killing tax increases and the smoke-and-mirrors fake budget cuts that he wanted. When the Democrats make it personal and start name-calling, you know that they have no real solutions to the problem.

E) Oh, and when the Democrats start using the race card, as Sheila Jackson-Lee did this week, you KNOW they have no coherent argument.

F) Obama threw reality completely out of the window on Friday, saying that 80% of the American people are “sold” in support of increasing taxes to lower the deficit. What poll is he reading? All of the polls show the exact opposite, including the Rasmussen poll cited a couple of paragraphs ago. In other words, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA IS A LIAR! His lies are almost as bad as Eddie’s.

G) The Liar also said: “If they show me a serious plan, I'm ready to move, even if it requires some tough sacrifices on my part” while telling the GOP to be “ambitious.” Well, the GOP has already put forth serious plans, such as Senator Ryan’s plan, and the Administration and Senate Democrats shot them down. The GOP will put up “Cut, Cap, and Balance” this week, but Obama has admitted to not reading the proposal while blowing it off as not a serious plan, saying: “we don't need a constitutional amendment to do our jobs.” The Crawfish actually agrees, since the current Constitution’s limits on the federal government would bring us back into a surplus situation, so why bring forth an addition to the Constitution that would just be ignored like the rest of it?

H) The Democrats have finally acknowledged that a lot of their strategy in the budget negotiations is based on politics rather than doing what is good for the country, as if we didn’t already know that. This is the reason that they are opposing anything to do with reform of Medicare.

I) Neal Boortz has a plan that could take the continual Democrat threat of not paying Social Insecurity benefits off the table. The GOP could put forth legislation designating a priority in how the government spends money, putting debt payments first, followed by Social Insecurity, then military pay, then veterans’ benefits. His Majesty would surely veto it.

J) The Roger Clemens perjury trial came to an abrupt halt on Thursday with the judge declaring a mistrial because of gross misconduct by the Affirmative Action Attorney General’s prosecutors. Clemens was on trial for lying to Congress and faced up to 30 years in prison if convicted. Can someone please explain how members of Congress can seriously press charges against Clemens when the Senate declared on February 12, 1999, that perjury is not a serious crime, with every single Democrat voting in favor of Bill Clinton?

K) On Wednesday, I mentioned that the Obama Administration was arming Israel’s enemies in the Muslim Brotherhood with 125 M1A1 Abrams tanks. It has also come to light that the Administration is arming the enemies of the United States. Evidently, Operation Gunrunner has a twin. Operation Castaway has supplied thousands of weapons to MS-13 and other drug gangs in the Honduras area. It is definitely time to charge Eric Holder and Barack Obama with treason.

L) Speaking of Operation Gunrunner, the Affirmative Action Attorney General has been saying that he didn’t know about it. That’s interesting considering that in 2009 he gave a speech in Mexico in which he talked about Gunrunner, saying: “My department is committing 100 new ATF personnel to the Southwest border in the next 100 days to supplement our ongoing Project Gunrunner.” Now before any liberals try to say that this is made up info from some right-wing nutjob’s website, the link takes you to his speech on the Department of Justice’s website.

M) A tip of The Crawfish’s hat goes to our ol’ pal Peppermint, who sent me down a trail that gives us 20 ready-made charges for impeachment proceedings against Barack Hussein Obama. Don’t worry, none of these are of the “birther” variety. Now, does the GOP have the nads or the will to go through with them? I seriously doubt it.

N) Wednesday’s edition also included the story of Kenneth Gladney’s case against the SEIU thugs who beat him outside of a Russ Carnahan townhall meeting, and how the SEIU had not only stacked the jury, but had gotten the DA to appoint a rookie prosecutor. Well, the case evidently hinged on the testimony of one surprise defense witness who claimed that Gladney started the fight against the two goons who were much bigger than him. Now that the verdict has been reached, evidence shows that the defense witness was not in any position to see the beginning of the fight. She committed perjury in support of the SEIU thugs. Then again, she is a black SEIU activist, so lying in favor of union thugs who are beating up some Uncle Tom is part of her genetic makeup. A pastor and former trial lawyer who witnessed the entire incident, and whom the prosecution refused to call as a witness (under SEIU orders?), sums up this travesty of justice.

O) You’ve all seen those commercials for Hoveround or other motorized scooters, and they all point out that most people get them FREE! Well, actually it isn’t free, since Medicare (meaning those of us who work for a living) pays for them. In 1999, Medicare paid $259 million for those things. By 2009 that number had gone up 179% to $723 million. It gets worse. The Medicare Inspector General’s office says that 61% of the folks who got those chairs paid for by us in the first half of 2007 should not have qualified for them! Even worse, Medicare is billed an average of $4018 per chair when the normal price averages $1048. There’s even more fraud involved, so I’ll just let you read the story from USA Today and get your own blood pressure up.

P) Hundreds of leeches stampeded in Dallas Thursday morning. They were trying to get on a waiting list for “Section 8” housing vouchers, which means they were all clamoring to have you and me pay for their rent. Here’s a better idea: Quit being lazy, get jobs, have your baby daddy (or daddies as the case may be) pay for their chirrun, and stop using your money for pizza, beer, cigarettes, and crack. In other words, take personal responsibility for the lives of yourselves and your families. I know…novel concept for these cousins of “Peggy the Moocher”.

Q) Why is it that the only thing shocking about this story is that it is from Austria instead of California?

R) The Claw has a new home! Not only do I post this mess at Red White Blue News, AllMilitary.com, Blogspot, Patriot Action Network, and Paul Revere Media, but now I have my own writer page on Facebook where it shows up in the Notes.

If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, e-mail them to me at CrawfishsClaw@yahoo.com and I’ll consider ‘em. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit.

7-13-2011 The Weekly Claw

Hey, maybe I can get through this column without running out of letters this time…

A) The Crawfish, and I’m sure most of my readers will join me, offers my salute, a hearty traditional Navy “Well Done!”, and a big Army “HOOAH!” to Sergeant First Class Leroy Arthur Petry of the 75th Ranger Battalion. He becomes only the 2nd member of the Armed Forces to be awarded the Medal of Honor, Presented on Behalf of Congress (not “Congressional Medal of Honor”) by President Obama, and have the Medal presented to him instead of his family since 9-11.

B) It doesn’t happen very often, but every once in a while a Hollyweird type does something worth celebrating. Mila Kunis is starring in a new film all about having a sexual relationship with a man just for the sex, with no real ties. That is NOT worth celebrating. But hold the phone. A Marine in Afghanistan made a youtube video asking her to accompany him to the Marine Corps Ball at his home base in Greenville, NC. With the encouragement of her co-star, Justin Timberlake, she has accepted the invitation of Sergeant Scott Moore of the 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines. OOH-RAH!

C) The SEIU is officially untouchable in the courts. The SEIU thugs who beat up black conservative Kenneth Gladney outside of an Obamacare townhall meeting in St. Louis were able to get the DA to appoint a prosecutor who had never prosecuted in a jury trial and to stack the jury with union members who declared the thugs not guilty of all charges, even though the beating was caught on video. Will someone stand up and pay for a REAL legal team to sue the crrrap out of the SEIU and Representative Carnahan?

D) How many of y’all remember the American Tradition Party Platform 2008? How much of that is still viable as a platform for us today? Okay, besides all of it?

E) The Obama Administration has completely lost touch with reality when it comes to the so-called “stimulus”. Now he is trying to say that the current rise in unemployment numbers and the lack of new jobs is proof that the “stimulus” worked as advertised. It worked exactly as us conservatives said it would, but nothing like the Democrats promised. We knew that it was designed to destroy the economy for years to come and boost government sector jobs alone. Two million fewer private sector jobs and record foreclosures means success? Obama is saying that state and local government jobs are being lost because there is no more federal money propping them up. Well, Wisconsin is showing how to change that little problem!

F) The latest poll numbers show that 69% of the American public opposes raising the debt ceiling, and when questioned about that, Barack Obama said that the American public doesn’t know anything about the debt ceiling, but “professional politicians” do. Listen up, Kenya boy. If we threw all of the “professional politicians” out of DC, we’d have a balanced budget and the government would be restrained to its Constitutional limits. The “professional politicians” are, as this ad so clearly and powerfully points out, like drug addicts.

G) On the debt ceiling talks, Senate Minority Leader McConnell said: “After years of discussions and months of negotiations, I have little question that as long as this president is in the Oval Office, a real solution is probably unattainable.” Continuing, he said that Obama “has presented us with three choices: smoke and mirrors, tax hikes, or default. Republicans choose none of the above.” As a result, Barack Obama is now threatening to not pay Social Security recipients, disabled veterans, and military retirees in August. He will, of course, blame the GOP for not accepting tax hikes that would in reality be just drops in the ocean.

H) You’ve just gotta love liberal “civility” in our national dialogue. On Fox News’ new show, replacing Beck, Democrat Bob Beckel says that people like Grover Nordquist who advocate reducing spending to the point of being at least 50% within the limitations of the Constitution are “terrorists” who deserve to be sent to Gitmo. The “terrorist” line is evidently the main DNC talking point, since damned near every liberal is using it these days.

I) Jeff Immelt, the CEO of General Electric, lectured the US Chamber of Commerce telling business owners that THEY needed to do more for job growth. Who in the (@#^ is Immelt to give that lecture? He sits on advisory panels for Obama and has received so many tax breaks for his company that GE doesn’t pay a dime of US taxes. He has also overseen the outsourcing of thousands of GE jobs, such as the manufacturing of light bulbs, to foreign nations. On a related note, Red Nanny P-Lousy kept all but 5 Dim in line to defeat a repeal of the ban on incandescent light bulbs. How much did GE shell out for that vote?

J) Wait a second…would Dear Leader lie to us? Of course he would, and has nearly every day since he first appeared on national television. Now he’s saying (again) that Social Insecurity is not adding to the deficit, when SS added $49 billion to last year’s deficit, and will add another $46 billion to it this year. Those numbers are going nowhere but up over the next couple of decades as the baby boomers leave the workforce and the socialists drive all private sector employers into oblivion.

K) He even lied about his mother for political gain during the Obamacare debates. Yes, his stories about his (damnit, she’s white) mom being denied health care coverage during her fight with cancer are quite incorrect. She had health care coverage, but did not have disability insurance. That is a BIG difference.

L) Do you know how to deactivate a cat? I coulda used this info a few years ago, but my one remaining tabby has grown out of his hyper years, and even his regularly active years.

M) As we have discussed numerous times, one of the biggest causes of the housing crisis was the Community Reinvestment Act, which was signed by Carter and put on steroids by Monica’s boyfriend. That act forced banks to give mortgages to people, especially minorities, who had no prospects of ever being able to afford them. You would have thought that this lesson had been learned. Along comes the most race-based Administration in history and the Affirmative Action Attorney General. Uh-oh. You can see what I’m about to say, can’t you? Yep, Eric “My People” Holder is forcing banks to give mortgages to blacks who can’t afford them, since the banks are raaaaaacist if they don’t do so. He is threatening investigations and legal action if the banks do not comply, and has already prosecuted banks that refused his orders to not adhere to actual business practices and banking standards. Welfare, food stamps, and other “public assistance” is to count as valid income on loan applications for minorities. Like Peggy the Moocher said in 2008, “I won't have to pay my mortgage, I won't have to put gas in my car. If I take care of him, he'll take care of me!”

N) What would you say about a government agency that gives money to left wing groups regularly so those groups can sue the agency? Well, in our current government that would be how the envirowackos at the EPA manage to get their nutjob agenda ordered through court action. This expose by Gunny G is sure to raise the blood pressure of all sane Americans. It has all sorts of far-left lunacy that is all tied together. Just beware…Gunny is a retired Marine, and he isn’t as restrained with his language as this retired Sailor.

O) There have been a lot of flash mobs in the news lately. Over the weekend there was one in Minneapolis, in which a white teenager, her mother, and her 4-year old sister were attacked. The race of the mob participants was not mentioned in the story, which was written by a black reporter, and all of the witnesses are adhering to urban gang policy of NO SNITCHIN’, so we know what it was. Contrast that mob to this flash mob from earlier in the month, and you will see stark differences in our society.

P) The head of the American Federation of Teachers says that we should look at the school systems of other nations, like Finland, and emulate them. She meant for us to do so because those nations give the unions even more power (conveniently not noting that those nations are going belly up because of their unions and extravagant governmental spending), but she gave The Crawfish just the opening I needed. We SHOULD emulate them, in that they spend much less per student, have much less disciplinary problems, and get much better results. Those nations also don’t pay for illegal aliens to go to their schools.

Q) Democrats always want Americans to bend over backwards to accommodate each and every person who is disabled in any shape of the term, whether it be physically, mentally, emotionally, or they just hate everything that is real America (that would be liberals). Now if a Democrat happens to be a minority race-baiter, those rules (like most rules in America) obviously do not apply. They are to have the disabled conform to THEM. Just ask Sheila Jackson-Lee.

R) The Obama Administration, while calling the Muslim Brotherhood a “largely secular organization”, has now decided to sell the Muslim Brotherhood 125 M1A1 Abrams tanks. Now think carefully before answering this question. What is the only nation on Egypt’s borders that could be considered less than an ally and has an army that includes modern tanks? Yes, the muslim President is selling the best tanks in the world to a muslim pseudo-government that is set to declare war on Israel. Once again, Barack Obama stabs one of our two greatest allies in the back.

S) How many of y’all know that Hillary! Clinton is Constitutionally banned from serving as Secretary of State? A few of us mentioned it back in early 2009, but it was never picked up by the Obamedia or anybody in the GOP. Well here it is, mid-2011, and that appointment is just part of a well-done essay showing how the Obama Administration is committing many of the same outrages that King George III did, as detailed in the Declaration of Independence, that caused our rebellion from England.

T) The Obama Campaign-affiliated Change.org has launched yet another attack campaign against a private business because that business has the audacity to be run by a Christian family with actual Christian values. This time, the target is Chick-fil-A, although others such as TOMS shoes and the Christian Values Network are also under attack. These left wing extremist groups just can’t fathom the fact that religious people are allowed to thrive even though they oppose the anti-Christian, anti-morality, pro-abortion, radical homo agenda. So go out there and EAT MOR CHIKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

U) A Mexican from New Mexico has won the first national Spanish Spelling Bee. Why in the world do we have a spelling bee for those who refuse to assimilate into the culture of the United States?

V) The Claw has a new home! Not only do I post this mess at Red White Blue News, AllMilitary.com, Blogspot, Patriot Action Network, and Paul Revere Media, but now I have my own writer page on Facebook where it shows up in the Notes.
